Merchant Dashboard - Search Improvements
Applies to: Merchant Dashboard
What's Changed: Merchant Dashboard users can now do partial searches on object properties, such as IDs and References for Payments, Mandates and Refunds. Previously, an exact match was required in the search to retrieve the object. Users can now search using only the prefix of the object property, which will retrieve all matched results, improving the usability of the search function.
Why This Matters: This provides merchants will a better search experience, where only part of the searchable property is required to retrieve the relevant results (eg. first five characters of the payment reference).
Authorisation Timeout Timer
Applies to: Agreement authorisation hand off
What's Changed: A real-time countdown timer has been introduced to the PayTo Agreement handoff screen. The timer displays how long a consumer has to authorise their PayTo Agreement within their banking app before the mandate automatically expires. Once the countdown reaches zero, the mandate will transition to a Cancelled state and cannot be authorised.
Why This Matters: Previously, consumers were unaware of how long they had to complete authorisation, creating ambiguity, resulting in a lack of urgency. The new timer improves transparency and user experience by setting clear expectations during the PayTo authorisation process. It also enables merchants to better manage retries or follow-up messaging when an authorisation window expires.

Enhanced Return Customer Experience for Australia
Applies to: Checkout API (Australia)
What's Changed: Banked has introduced an enhanced return customer flow that allows consumers to opt in for a faster, more secure Pay by Bank checkout. This new flow includes a passwordless payer authentication layer using OTP/SMS (with Passkey support planned for a future release), enabling shoppers to authorise payments without needing to open their banking app or leave the checkout.
Why This Matters: Merchants without an existing tokenisation solution (e.g. direct Shopify merchants) can now enable the enhanced return customer experience to deliver a better PayTo payment journey for their returning customers.
